The new temporary resident visa (TRV) is here, and it’s better than ever. The new TRV was introduced on June 1, 2018, and it replaces the old temporary resident visa (TRV).

What is the new TRV?

You may have heard about the new TRV, but what exactly is it? The new TRV is a simplified form of the old one that replaces it. It was developed to make things easier and faster for applicants, who can now apply online from anywhere in Canada.

There are several advantages of using this new type of application:

  • You do not need to submit any additional documents or proof; all you need is your current passport photo (or other suitable photo) and your passport number.
  • Your application will be processed within 30 days from receipt at IRCC’s processing centre in Toronto (instead of 60 days).

How is this different from the old TRV?

The new TRVs are faster, more flexible and better than the previous ones. They are also more affordable and reliable. In addition to these features, there is another reason why people prefer the new type of TRVs: they can be used for a longer period of time without having to reapply for renewal.

Who gets the new TRV?

The new TRV is available to those who have been in Canada for less than 10 years, and who are not eligible for an exemption.

The following people are eligible:

  • Those with a valid study permit or temporary resident visa (TRV) at the time of application.
  • Registered students who will be enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree program at a Canadian university or college for two consecutive terms. They must also intend to complete their studies within 12 months from the date they began them; however, if they leave before completing their term and return after that period has passed then it counts as one year of study on this type of visa

When will IRCC start approving the new TRV?

The bad news is that IRCC will start processing TRV’s in 30 days with a 90% approval rate.

The good news is that you can enter your information on their website and see if your application has been approved or rejected.

Who is eligible for the new TRV?

The new TRV is only available to Canadian citizens, permanent residents and refugees.

  • Citizens who became permanent residents of Canada before January 1, 2019 may also be eligible for the new TRV.
  • Persons with temporary resident status (such as students) are not eligible for this new program.

The new TRV is faster, more efficient, easier to apply for and more affordable than ever before. Plus, with the ability to access your own private health information online through a secure portal, you can now get the full suite of benefits that come along with being an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
